All
prospective students will undergo an application process before enrolling
in Compton
Academy. This application process is to ensure that all students
are appropriately placed in the school. The process begins with an initial
conference including students and parents. During this conference, interviews
will be held with parents and students to determine if Compton Academy
meets the educational and social needs of the student. The next step in
the process is to administer academic testing to assess the student's
strengths and weaknesses. This assessment usually takes between two to
three hours, depending on the age of the student. Finally, a follow-up
conference will be held to discuss the results of the academic assessment.
A written summary of scores and observations will be provided to students
and parents during this conference. Pending results of the academic assessment,
the student will be allowed to enroll in Compton
Academy. Appropriate courses will be discussed and an academic
timeline will be presented to represent the completion of the student's
academic career. |
