Laura Compton
graduated from Appalachian State University in 1990 with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Mathematics with Secondary Education Certification.
In addition, she attained a Minor in Psychology. She began her career
in education working in the public school sector in a high school
setting in Rowan county.
After realizing students' needs for alternative education, Laura changed
from the public school setting to a small private facility and worked
as an educational consultant and private instructor for students with
educational difficulties.During her twelve years of employment, she
served as the Upper School Director for six years before establishing
her life-long dream, Compton Academy.
Laura Compton has a strong belief that a student's self-concept and
self-worth are essential keys to success. She strives to provide all
students with guidance, compassion and motivation to succeed in their
academic endeavors.
Laura has been happily married to her husband, David, for over nine
wonderful years. They share an adorable Pomeranian named LuLu. Laura
has a diverse set of interests which include running, Pilates, watching
Nascar and listening to both country and bluegrass music. |

Daley - Instructor |
| Diane
Daley has a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarion University in
Pennsylvania with a major in English and a minor in Reading. While
earning additional certifications in specific learning disabilities
and behavior disorders, she began her teaching career in the public
school systems in Ohio. The nine-year resident of Charlotte taught
at Olympic High School before entering the private school sector.
Diane lives in South Charlotte with her husband Jim, who coaches at
UNC Charlotte, and her dog Wilson, who just hangs around the kitchen
a lot. Both of their children live in the area, and her favorite pastime
has become spending time with her grandchildren. |

| Elizabeth
Scott graduated from Texas Tech High School in May of 2003. Since
that time, she has attended Central Piedmont Community College on
a full-time basis as well as working for Compton Academy. Elizabeth
serves many roles in her position as receptionist and is a valuable
employee. Elizabeth's interests include her many pets, fashion and
music. |
